ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Tom Flores spent 35 years in the NFL in various capacities. He played for the Oakland Raiders from 1960-61, again from 1963-66, and was an assistant coach for four years. He was then head coach for the Raiders from 1979-87 where he compiled a regular-season record of 83-53 and won two Super Bowl championships. He was nominated for the National Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and currently does radio color commentary for the Raiders. Flores and his wife Barbara have twin sons, Mark and Scott, a daughter, Kim, and four grandchildren.

Matt Fulks started his journalism career while attending Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then he has been involved in every form of media. Fulks is currently a regular contributor for various publications, including a weekly newspaper column, "Behind the Stats," which focuses on inspirational stories from the world of sports. He is also the author or co-author of six other books. Fulks lives in the Kansas City area.
