June 2003 - Los Angeles, CA -- Actress Catherine Bell, star of CBS's JAG and co-star of the #1 hit film, Bruce Almighty, signed L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics Self-Improvement Packages at the recent Book Expo America. These packages will be sent to members of the U.S. military in acknowledgement of their service. A busy Bell also cut the opening ribbon of the L. Ron Hubbard Life Exhibit together with Steve Rosata, Vice President Book Expo America and Blake Silber, Public Affairs Director Bridge Publications. A standout among 2,000 exhibitors representing thousands of books and authors who attended the expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The exhibit uniquely highlighted a single author, L. Ron Hubbard, in celebration of over 70 years of his popular works in print. A first-time mother last month, Bell attributes much of her success in both her career and personal life to the principles in Hubbard's books. Bell says that his all-time bestseller, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health has been a key factor in her ability to achieve happiness and success. Over 30,000 copies of Dianetics were sent to troops in Desert Storm to relieve the mental trauma caused by war and keep them mentally sharp and alert. Hubbard, who began his more-than-half-century long career with his first publication in 1932, has sold over 154,000,000 copies of his works throughout the world. His groundbreaking work on reducing drugs and toxins stored in the body, Clear Body Clear Mind, became Hubbard's 19th New York Times bestseller in March of this year. Book Expo America is the showcase for the next year's international bestsellers. 2,000 exhibitors and 600 authors put their best books forward to over 25,000 visitors made up of booksellers, media and movie industry professionals. Colin Powell, Bill Cosby, Larry King, Bill O'Reilly, Madeline Albright and Ellen DeGeneres were among the authors promoting their books at the expo. oOo
