Help For The Technically Challenged

January 2001 - Newport, R.I. -- Aegis Publishing Group announces the publication of the second edition of the Telecom & Networking Glossary, a bestseller that incorporates definitions from both the voice telecom and data networking worlds.

"This has become one of our most popular titles," says Aegis publisher and editor-in-chief Robert Mastin. "Bookstore sales have been steady, and we've made some big corporate sales to companies such as Cisco, SBC, and AT&T. These companies use it for training or as premiums for customers."

The glossary is not targeted at engineers and technicians. "It is written for small businesses that don't have IT managers and for people entering the rapidly growing world of telecommunications and networking," says Mastin. "It's for people who need to understand the basics, without getting bogged down in superfluous technical detail."

Written in a friendly, nonthreatening style, this glossary focuses on those terms that are seen most frequently in the trade press. Emphasis is given to fundamental concepts, business terms, and widely adopted technologies, while more narrowly focused technical terms are given briefer treatment.

The Telecom & Networking Glossary (Aegis, $14.95) is available in bookstores or directly from the publisher at 800-828-6961. An online version is available at Aegis Publishing's website.
