Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and School Library Journal Launch New Seminar Initiative for School and Library Marketers: PubMarketing 2000

September 2000 - (New York, NY) - Cahners publications, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and School Library Journal have teamed up with the Internet Monitor to launch a series of marketing seminars for publishers and professionals serving the education and library markets. The first seminar will be held on November 10, 2000 at the Sofitel Hotel in New York City. The focus of the seminar will be Internet marketing specifically for the school and library markets.

"As publishers of the leading professional journals for librarians and the publishing community, we are tracking publishing innovations and their impact on schools' and libraries' use the Internet to access and purchase information." said Ron Shank, Associate Publisher of Library Journal and School Library Journal. "As a service to the publishing community, this forum will help publishers understand and capitalize on the opportunities created by these new developments. Marketing channels and techniques are changing quickly as more publishers are developing web sites to publicize and sell products directly to the education and library markets."

PubMarketing 2000 - Internet Marketing Focus will cover the following topics: an overview of Internet Marketing trends; using your web site to promote products and services; Internet marketing law and; driving traffic to your web site using online, off-line and integrated marketing strategies. The seminar will also include real time web site critiques of selected educational and reference publishers. There will also be a question and answer focus group session with a panel of librarians representing the K-12, Public and Academic library markets.
