June 1999 - "It's Time To Let You Know... "

(Austin, TX) With these words Beth Riedler opens her heart to tell the story of all the pain, struggles and ultimate growth associated with giving a child up for adoption. It's a story about a birth mother's love for her child. "When you were two days old I had a chance to hold you in my arms. Most mothers would have done it if only to keep their new baby warm. Why didn't I pick you up? Well, it's time to let you know..."

Her story helps both adopted children and parents who have given up a child for adoption to re-awaken their natural fellings of love. It gives both children and parents a fresh new awareness of their true feelings and mends broken hearts. The book creates deep feeling and awareness for adopted children to help them understand "why?"

The story is true. It is her story, and therefore loaded with feeling and love. It will touch a warm spot in the heart of anyone who has been adopted, has adopted a child, or has given a child up for adoption. If you know someone who is adopted, or someone who has given away a child, please see that they get a copy of this book. The book can be the seed that starts the growth of forgiveness for both the adult and the child.

The Effect On Readers:

"I have observed many occasions where the book has been read to groups of people. On each occasion, the story moved the listeners to tears; tears of feeling, understanding, and forgiveness. This book has a profound effect on its readers. It makes them aware that love goes beyond each person's seemingly selfish actions. It has a soothing effect on both individuals who have been adopted, as well as those who have given a child away through adoption. It produces a noticeable feeling of peace and forgiveness which lessens the need to blame or condemn.

The Illustrations:

The illustrations were created by very special people. The story was read to various groups of students who then drew pictures to match their feelings about the lines of the book. These drawings allowed individuals to express themselves in ways which opened doors to understanding and healing. From the 250 drawings submitted, we selected 27 drawings to be part of this book. It was very difficult to limit the selections, so we decided to publish all of the pictures in the back of the book.

Assistance to Adoption Organizations:

Each year organizations that work with adoption will be selected to receive a percentage of the profits from the sale of this book. If you know of an organization that would like to be considered to receive this gift, please complete the application form inside this book and submit it to Global Relationship Centers, Inc.
