$35,000 Read, Write, & Win Challenge Deadlines Extended

February 1999 - Middleburg, Fl. Otter Creek Press has moved the essay deadlines in its $35,000 Read, Write & Win Challenge. The entry deadline for The Magic Bicycle has been changed to March 31, with winners announced May, 1999; essays for California Ghosting will be accepted June 1 through July 31, with winners announced October, 1999.

Otter Creek Press, publisher of fine imaginative fiction, is offering $30,000 in cash and $5,000 in books to encourage reading and to promote Lake Tahoe author William Hill's fantasy novels.

This series of contests includes five of William Hill's novels and is open to readers of all ages. Children and young adults are encouraged to enter an essay.

The Magic Bicycle, The Vampire Hunters, and Chasing Time -- The Magic Bicycle 2 appeal to all ages, especially youngsters over 10 years of age. California Ghosting is a mystery-thriller and Wizard Sword is a high fantasy tale.

The best essay written about each book will win $3,000 in cash. Second place wins $1,500, and third place, $500. Autographed William Hill books will be awarded to 500 contestants.

Five participating libraries (designated by the five top winners) will be awarded $1,000 each in support of reading programs.
