BABRA is a volunteer organization of Bay Area book reviewers, founded in 1982 to give recognition to Northern California writers. Awards are for books published in each calendar year, by writers living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in California north of a line between Big Sur and Fresno. The awards are presented at an annual ceremony held in San Francisco. Authors or publishers should submit two copies of each eligible book. Deadline: December 1 of the calendar year of publication. Please note that the Cody Award is not a competitive award, recipients are nominated and chosen by the members of BABRA.
